Episode 30
Scientists link two mice brains. AKA the Binars from Star Trek TNG.

Furthermore, longer term (1 year) testing of wireless brain-computer interfaces is successful so far in animals.

We have a discussion about superheroic abilities through technology and training sparked by this article.

Autotuning is still around and being used extensively.

Alan is fascinated by the history of electronica (sound alert). Brendan is less interested.

Cinequest is this week in San Jose, and Alan saw Lawrence of Arabia restored and projected in 4K.

Brendan completed the set! He’s seen all 23 James Bond movies and we had a nice chat about some of them.

Episode 24

Quick thanks to Auntie Geezer who hipped us to the blatant act of plagiarism (sort of) perpetrated by The Daily Show with very distinct similarities (sort of) to last week’s podcast topic of the We The People website of petitions from the White House.

Our discussion of BioPrinting got out of hand. Luckily we were able to print another one to corral the cows back into the test tube.

The ups and downs of the story of the cloning the Neanderthal. Now with bonus refresher on genetic cloning from guest experts Dr. John Hammond and Mr. DNA.

The Augmented Reality welding mask. Just one step closer to full time heads up displays (aka Geordi LaForge TV show VISOR) and one further step for bioprinted super-eyes (Geordi LaForge movie eyes).

Alan bought a kazoo! As it was a “special order” he got a video of it being sanded and finished.
